  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions:

Warm your oven up to 425F 220C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Put the crumbled sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, baking powder, salt, black pepper, dried thyme, and dried rosemary in a bowl

Add the cold, cubed butter to the bowl with the dry ingredients

You can use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dough until it looks like big crumbs

Add the milk slowly and mix the dough just until it comes together

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to make it stick together

Make a circle out of the dough that is about 1/2 inch 1

25 cm thick

To make scones out of the dough, use a round cookie cutter or a glass

Cover the baking sheet with foil and put them on it

For a golden look, brush the scones' tops with egg wash that has been beaten

After the oven is hot, bake the scones for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked

Take them out of the oven and let them cool down a bit before you serve them

Have fun with your tasty sausage cheese scones!
